The origins of Jurançon go back more than a thousand years. The wine was one of the first in the world to gain appellation status guaranteeing its quality. The vineyard is made up of tiny parcels nestling in sun-filled valleys, from the terraces of Château de Pau to the spectacular Pyrenees mountain range. The sandy clay soils of Béarn are rich in round pebbles, brought down by floods and glaciers from the Pyrenees. This gives the dry white wines their strength and character.
