The season is also turning in the vineyards, with the harvest imminent. A rainy spring and drought in the summer have delayed the start of picking. Even though the harvest for Crémant de Bordeaux and the whites has already started, the red wines of Bordeaux, the Médoc, Saint-Émilion and Bergerac will have to wait until later in September. The vintage seems promising, particularly after the recent rains which will allow the grapes to achieve optimum ripeness.
