MONSIEUR DE CYRANO

Our other creations

MONSIEUR DE CYRANO

The Dordogne is a region rich in history where the cooperative wine sector plays a major economic role. Our teams have therefore combined cultural and viticultural history to give life to the new Bergerac range, Monsieur de Cyrano.

Monsieur de Cyrano, quite a story.

Like Edmond Rostand in 1897, our cooperative winegrowers have given of their very best to produce the wines for Monsieur de Cyrano. Edmond Rostand, creator of the famous play “Cyrano de Bergerac”, was inspired by the enthusiasm and panache of Savinien de Cyrano de Bergerac to bring to life the famous character of Cyrano de Bergerac. The play was a huge success. Since then, Cyrano has always been an icon of French literature and a true symbol of the South West. Just like the growers who produce it, Monsieur de Cyrano is a characterful wine, modern and organic.

The strengths of the brand

A sustainable range from organic viticulture

Monsieur de Cyrano wines are made from grapes that meet the requirements of the organic regulations. The sulphur content is limited, and the additives used comply with the list of authorised winemaking products. In addition, the dry goods have been selected with the greatest respect for the environment (lightweight bottle, label printed with water-based ink, cork and capsule with reduced carbon footprint, etc.).

A name rich in meaning

Cyrano de Bergerac is a symbol of literature all over the world. The name of this range will therefore speak to wine consumers throughout the world and inspire confirmed wine lovers and newcomers alike. Both wines are rounded, modern and easy to drink on any occasion.

A tribute to the origins of Producta Vignobles

With this new brand, Producta Vignobles pays tribute to its founders in the Bergerac AOP and revives a trademark that was registered more than 50 years ago.

Packaging that stands out on the shelf

In addition to its Bauhaus design (avant-garde graphic movement that inspired the portrait of Cyrano de Bergerac on the label), the label reflects the history of Bergerac. The orange label and its matching capsule echo the region’s tobacco-growing past, while the green label and capsule of the white wine echo Bergerac’s viticultural history.

In addition, the harmonious curves of this bottle and its wide base will make it stand out on the shelf as well as on the dining table. The packaging has been thought out in detail to give these wines all their meaning.

Product profiles

A well-structured red Bergerac

Made up of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, this red Bergerac is deeply coloured. Its intense ruby red recalls the curtains of the theatre stages on which performances of Cyrano de Bergerac were played. This wine is expressive on the nose, carried by notes of fresh and ripe fruit. Structured on the palate, aromatic and generous. Very good balance. The summer before the harvest was hot, so this wine is well structured, powerful and very harmonious.

Monsieur de Cyrano is perfect as an aperitif, or to be enjoyed around a barbecue, a plate of cold cuts or throughout the meal.

A fresh white Bergerac

This wine harmoniously complements its red partner. Composed mainly of Sauvignon, with just a touch of Semillon, this blend gives it a golden yellow colour. Its nose of white flowers and its fruit-filled palate (peach, pear) give it balance and freshness.

This wine will be perfect for lunches in the sun. It goes equally well with a seafood platter, soft cheeses or a salad.

This range thus illustrates the multiple possible sources of inspiration for characterful wines like these. Literature, culture, economy, viticulture, etc., the wealth of our terroirs is enormous! To find out more about this range, don’t hesitate to contact our sales team.
